VOLUNTEER FOR THE FRIDAY
SCHOOL FIELD TRIP PROGRAM

Looking for a fun and rewarding way to spend your Friday mornings? Join us as a volunteer for the Burbank Farm and Community Apple Press field trip program!

What You'll Do

Guide students.  Help third graders and up explore three engaging stations:

• Discover Luther Burbank’s history and tour the farm
• Taste and compare local apple varieties
• Press apples into juice and bottle a pint to take home

Support Learning. Ensure students have a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience as they rotate through each activity in small groups.

Who We're Looking For

• No Experience Needed: You don’t need to know about apple pressing or Burbank’s history—we’ll train you!
• Love Working with Kids: Enthusiasm for helping children learn is a must.
• Team Player: Be ready to assist, learn, and eventually lead a group when needed.

What to Expect

• Schedule: Arrive at 8:30 AM to help set up; students arrive at 9 AM. The program wraps up around noon, followed by a quick clean-up and debrief.
• Physical Activity: Expect some lifting and moving of apples, juice, and equipment throughout the day.
• Team Spirit: After the program, enjoy a celebratory drink—and sometimes chocolate—with your fellow volunteers!
