On Sunday October 5th, from 4-8pm beneath a harvest Moon
in the Barndiva Gardens in Healdsburg we will come together
in support of Slow Food Russian River’s Heritage Turkey Project
and the launch of Fork & Shovel, Sonoma County’s first
chefs and farmers collaborative.

Join us for...

  • An interactive journey through our Food shed showcasing the
Bounty of Sonoma County with tasty bites along the way

  • Appetizers and a Five-course meal prepared by the chefs
of Cyrus, Barndiva, Syrah, Park Ave. Catering, Rosso, Zin, Santi,
Central Market, Mosaic, and Seaweed Café Catering.
All of the food for the meal will be purveyed from local
Fork & Shovel producers. Local organic or biodynamic wineries
will be poured with the meal including Porter Creek, Sky Saddle,
Quivira, DeLoach, Michel-Schlumberger, Iron Horse, Preston,
    Medlock Ames.

  • A live auction with compelling works from some of
Northern California's finest artists, ten prize winning
4H organic heritage turkeys for your Thanksgiving Table,
pigs and sheep (animal futures anyone?).

  • A Silent auction that includes a fantastic 60 bottle
Sonoma County Wine library, Sonoma County meat buyers club
Meat CSA boxes for a year, A Private dinner party for 24 in the
Artists and Farmers Gardens with guest chef John Ash, Wild Mushroom Foraging and champagne lunch with Omnivore's Dilemma Angelo Garro followed by dinner and a nights stay at Philo Apple Farm,
Myra Hoefer’s exquisite apartment in Paris with a gastronomic walking tour, A house stay in Mexico, a 10 gallon Gravenstein Apple tree grown
from genetic stock from the first Gravensteins, planted by Russian colonists in Fort Ross in the early 1800s.

  • A raffled chance to win a year of 'dining out' across the county at
Fork & Shovel bistros, wine bars and restaurants.

  • For your entertainment there will be a Jug Band, Compost Cycling,
Farm Roulette, and (if all that weren't enough) a Susan Leibovitz-Steinman raised-bed art installation in the Artists & Farmers garden.

Above all, the evening will be an extraordinary opportunity to show
your support for the Slow Food Heritage Turkey Project,
the launch of Fork & Shovel as it begins its first year of life,
and the security of our local food system!

*Tickets are $125 and $90 of the ticket price is tax deductible

Fork & Shovel is a committed food community connecting chefs to farmers. They celebrate the distinction of the regional foodshed, promoting commerce in local, sustainably grown foods and educating the public in their appreciation.
